About us
Solving the age-old question of IF the book or the movie was better… Let’s watch and compare the latest book-to-screen adaptations. Looking at the current slate of releases, we will focus on a fair amount of sci-fi, fantasy, horror, and thriller selections.
We will meet once month to screen a movie together at Cinemark Merriam in their full-service theater with reclining seats. Alternatively, you can watch the film outside of the group. We will reconvene at Seven Stories bookshop located in Shawnee, KS to discuss the book/movie pick at pre-designated Wednesday Meetings.
**First novel-to-screen adaption is Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman, which comes out to theaters as Other Mommy on Oct. 9th. Our first discussion will be on Wednesday, Oct. 21st.
There is huge flexibility in where you acquire the book, and what order you read or watch the film. However, you are responsible for purchasing your own movie tickets, and supporting our local indie bookstore hosts with a book purchase is greatly appreciated. There will be copies of upcoming book selections available at Seven Stories to purchase.
