**This is a Rain or Shine event. Please take a good lunch or bring along some snacks if you feel hungry along the way. Our walks are usually between 8 - 12 km long. Just so you know, the weather may be hot but as the sun sets, the weather should be cooler.
Please be punctual. You are encouraged to be slightly early to avoid disappointments. There will be 5 minutes grace for attendance taking. Please remember that we cannot wait because this would be unfair to those already present.
This Meetup group is a community-led group by volunteers. Please extend grace in areas of inadequacy. You are most welcome to give constructive feedback; we strive for improvement!
i Light Singapore is Asia’s leading light festival to be held in Marina Bay and neighbouring precincts from 29 May to 21 June 2025.
First held in 2010, i Light Singapore showcases light art installations created by Singaporean and international artists. These artworks are designed with energy-saving lightings and/or environmentally-friendly materials to encourage festival goers and the general public to adopt sustainable habits in their everyday lives. The Festival also features a diverse range of fringe activities for visitors to enjoy, bringing vibrancy to public spaces in our city centre.
To Gather - the curatorial theme of i Light Singapore 2025 - draws inspiration from the colour red from the Visible Light narrative.
Red has the power to move the human collective. It evokes in us the emotions of love and passion. It brings communities together for celebrations in some cultures. Red can also symbolise power. It seizes our attention to what is important or urgent. Red has the ability to influence our behaviour in profound ways and ignites movement for change.
Often associated with elements that are essential for sustaining life, red symbolises the primary energy source that radiates light and warmth for life on Earth. As the lifeblood of our collective existence, red is the common thread that binds us all together - a call to embrace unity in diversity.
To Gather strives to spark conversations, foster vibrant communities and inspire collective action so as to effect positive change for a more sustainable future.
Let's come together and paint the town red!
See you there :-))

Please try to be punctual. There will be 5 minutes grace for attendance taking. Please remember that we cannot wait because this would be unfair to those already present.
Please keep in mind that I may not respond to messages sent after the walk starts because I will be busy helping the attendees and leading the walk.
Please be sure to RSVP responsibly to help those who are on the waitlist get the chance to come for the walks.
As a consideration to others, you should change your RSVP status the day before the event to allow those on the waitlist time to schedule for the event if you can't attend.
If I notice many no-shows despite the RSVPs, I may remove you from the RSVP list so that others can join my walks.
Thank you for your kind understanding.
