🎶 Music Lecture at Stanford — join us!
Details
I came across an interesting open lecture at Stanford University and thought it could be a great opportunity to spend time in an inspiring and intellectually engaging environment. This talk is part of the Ron Alexander Memorial Lectures in Musicology and will be given by Emily R. Pollock (MIT), whose work explores how music, traditions, and artistic forms evolve over time.
Even if you’re not deeply into musicology, this is a wonderful chance to step into the Stanford environment, hear a thoughtful academic perspective, and experience something a bit different from the usual social meetups.
What makes events like this especially valuable is not just the content itself, but the people they attract. It’s a great opportunity to meet others who are curious, open-minded, and interested in culture, art, and ideas — people you might not normally cross paths with.
If you enjoy meaningful conversations, discovering new perspectives, or simply being around intellectually engaged people, this could be a really nice way to spend an evening.
Feel free to join solo or bring a friend — these kinds of events are usually very easygoing and welcoming.
Admission is free and the event is open to the public, so you can just show up and be part of it.
