What will it take to compete in today’s complex, rapidly changing environment where we’re faced with an insatiable demand for innovation?
Teams must be lean, agile, and human-centered, equipped with the tools to thrive in those environments. Some of the most effective tools we use today have been built on the principles of Design Sprints.
Design Sprint Principles help us tackle business challenges by bringing together diverse perspectives, eliminate unnecessary conversations and remove bias to quickly build understanding, make better-informed decisions, remove risk and increase efficiency in order to create the most effective solutions and deliver the highest value to customers.
In this workshop, you’ll learn the Design Sprint Principles that help you make better decisions, faster and how to engage customers to ensure a deeper understanding of their needs.
In the first half, you’ll get hands-on experience as you learn the Lightning Decision Jam process which enables you to quickly identify the highest priority problem, decide on a high-impact solution and end with clear action steps to execute in the following days.
In the second half of the workshop, you’ll learn how to craft interview questions for potential customers to help you validate your assumptions about their pain points. We’ll put this into practice by crafting questions around an existing idea and testing assumptions with the people in the room.

Q: Is this the same as the Design Sprint Bootcamp?
A: No, the Design Sprint Bootcamp takes you through each day of the Design Sprint process so you can facilitate your own Design Sprints with your team or company. In this workshop, you’ll get a brief intro of the Design Sprint and learn foundational Design Sprint Principles along with a designed process called the Lighting Decision Jam that uses Design Sprint Principles to make better decisions, faster.
Q: Do I need to be part of a team to attend this workshop?
A: Teams are welcomed, but not required. We know not everyone is working in large teams and/or for large companies, so this workshop has been designed to give individuals tangible takeaways that they can apply to their current professional or personal projects.
Q: Will I get teamwork experience from this workshop?
A: Yes, during the Lightning Decision Jam process you’ll be grouped into teams of 4-5 (if you come with a team, you can work together) and work to define a large, ambiguous problem, decide on a high-impact solution and walk away with tangible action steps to try in the following weeks as an individual or as a team.
Q: Do I need to be a designer to attend?
A: Nope! If you can write words on a sticky note and care about learning the fundamentals of designed processes and how to make better decisions, faster then this workshop is for you.
Q: Do I need a computer?
A: This is a device-free day!
A light lunch, snacks, and drinks are included as part of the workshop fee.
