What we’re about

We Are a Traditional Iaido School (Japanese swordsmanship) practicing at One Dojo in Boulder, CO.

Our classes use partner and solo practice to polish minds through the body. The sword, as an extension of the mind and body, becomes the mirror showing practitioners areas for growth and development.

    ## Join us for a swordsmanship seminar focused on fundamentals designed to build strong foundations — both physical and mental — for your Iaido practice.

This 2-hour afternoon workshop begins without swords, emphasizing movement quality, flexibility, posture, and awareness. Through guided warm-ups, sliding-foot walking, seiza transitions, and stance work, participants will develop the body mechanics that make Iai efficient, grounded, and sustainable.

In the second hour, we introduce the sword. Participants will learn proper handling, fundamental suburi, partner drills, and the core cutting patterns of Iaido.

The seminar concludes with a short demonstration, seated meditation, and a formal bow-out— followed by a casual tea tasting to close the afternoon.

    This seminar is ideal for:
    • Beginners looking for a clear, supportive entry point
    • Practitioners wanting to refine fundamentals
    • Anyone interested in moving better, with or without a sword

No prior Iaido experience required. 16 years of age and older preferred.
