About us
Hello Atlanta IBM Data and AI meetup community
đź‘‹ Welcome to the Frontier
AI is no longer just a tool we query—it is becoming a workforce that acts. The Agentic Era has arrived, and its implications will fundamentally reshape every business, industry, and walk of life.
However, autonomous agents are only as good as the information they consume. To power this new era, businesses must achieve true Data Intelligence: delivering the real-time, right data to the right agent at the exact millisecond it is needed.
But building this live infrastructure comes with unprecedented risk. As we harness advanced AI reasoning models, we must simultaneously secure these data pipelines against systemic and future threats by engineering Quantum-Safe architectures today.
🚀 Our Mission Evolution
This "facelift" pivots our community directly toward the strategic tech redefining our industry. We want this group to be your local headquarters to catch up, connect, and learn—whether you are mastering IBM's latest hybrid data platform updates, unlocking real-time data intelligence, or neutralizing systemic security risks.
For our builders, we will go to the depths required in agentic engineering workflows using cutting-edge tools like IBM Bob and watsonx Orchestrate. Let's build what's next!

From Spec to Reality: Building Reliable AI with MeLLeA and IBM Bob
Georgia Tech Pettit Microelectronics Building, 791 Atlantic Dr NW, Atlanta, GA 30332, Atlanta, GA, US```
Welcome back IBM Data AI meetup community. If you have ever watched an AI agent
confidently hallucinate its way through a task, and wondering is there a way out?
Come and learn about open source project MeLLeA (a Python library) to see how it
can help with some of the issues associated with leveraging LLMs to accomplish your task!WHAT IS THIS
Georgia Tech and IBM are co-hosting a hands-on technical session on building reliable,
auditable AI systems using MeLLeA — a Python library from IBM Research Cambridge (https://mellea.ai/) —
alongside IBM Bob and Granite open source models.This is a working session. Bring your laptop. There will be hands-on opportunities!
========================================
WHAT YOU WILL SEE-> MeLLeA in action — Instruct, Validate, Repair loops that make LLMs predictable
-> A real demo: legal review checker built with MeLLeA to flag AI-misattributed citations
in automated document pipelines (built by Georgia Tech researchers Adrian Lozada and Di Wu)
-> Spec Driven Development — write the spec first, let the AI build to it
-> Leveraging IBM Bob — build your own agentic AI dev partner
-> Open source data + IBM Granite models in the mix========================================
AGENDA12:30pm -> Networking and arrival
1:00pm -> OSPO@GT — Open Source AI Introduction

WHO SHOULD COMEDevelopers and students obviously but anyone interested in or working on Agentic AI
development, AI engineers, enthusiasts, or anyone who wants to build AI that works
as designed. Plus those exploring spec-driven development, agentic AI in general, or open
source LLM tooling. Data engineers, ML engineers, and architects tired of prompt roulette.P.S: This is a working technical session.
