This talk picks up where our last left off. Though it isn't necessary that you've come to our previous talk, some familiarity with containers is the critical prerequisite for this talk. In the second part of the this talk, we'll each deploy a demo application to Kubernetes.
Be sure to register for an IBM Cloud account through this link: https://ibm.biz/BdqF8K
We've had a lot of discussion on what containers are and how they work, but not a lot on how they're often deployed in production environments. Kubernetes is a popular open source project that aids in orchestrating containers. Kubernetes is complex, but hopefully you'll leave with a good understanding of how it works and when to leverage it for your own workloads.
We'll start with an overview of how we got from containers to orchestration. From there we'll cover a bit about the architecture of Kubernetes and how it works and deploy an application to Kubernetes.
