This hike will be hosted by The Sole Seekers who are part of the Dane county Ice Age trail alliance.
Distance for the hike is a 1.6 mi loop.
Parking is in the Ballweg road parking lot.
There are NO bathroom facilities available at the Springfield Hill segment.
This segment is a short loop that can be hiked in either direction. Highlights include the 198 acres of Springfield Hill natural resource area. This property consists of steep wooded valleys, glacier kettle ponds and open meadows. The stunning prairie changes with the seasons and demonstrates what's possible through extensive and ongoing restoration efforts. The trail route provides outstanding views from atop Springfield Hill, one of the highest points in the area.
Since this is such a short hike, we will have the opportunity at the end to share some treats and socialize.
