Indian Lake segment
Details
This is a pre solstice hiking event.
Welcome to hikes with the Sole Seekers hiking group. our group was formed last year with the desire to bring people together to enjoy the outdoors and appreciate the special trail that we have within our state.
This segment of the Ice Age Trail offers stunning views amidst steep wooded hillsides and prairie.
This will be about a 4 mile hike on Ice Age Trail and the trail north of the lake to loop back to the parking area. For those interested, in completing the trail, we'll do extra 1.5 mile (through the Hwy 19 underpass) into the Halfway Prairie area north of 19 to the trail start.
We'll start in Indian Lake Park by the shelter and restrooms.
This segment of the Ice Age trail at Indian Lake is absolutely stunning with beautiful views, but it does have some uneven ground and some steep hills, so it's a little more challenging than our easier hikes. If you have hiking poles definitely bring them along. Everyone is welcome to join, but please be ready for both adventure and breathtaking scenery. Also, if you want to hike another mile there's a beautiful chapel up at the top of the hill. It has a lot of history and again the views are spectacular.
