Demos and Panel on XR & Game Development

Details
Join us for a night to dive into XR (AR: augmented reality, VR: virtual reality & MR: mixed reality) in Gaming!
We're excited to partner with our friends at AWE Nite NC Triangle and NCXR for a fun event, sponsored by Duke University's Master of Engineering in Game Design, Development and Innovation and Durham's own award-winning XR development agency CrossComm.
We will have really fun games for you to demo, including the newly released Nope Challenge (Meta Quest), and Waves of Jeju (available to playtest on Meta App Lab). If you want to demo your game at the event, contact one of the event organizers.
Then we'll have a panel of XR folks to talk about their experiences with game design and the future of the XR industry.
Our panelists will include:
Ernesto Escobar- Executive Director, Master of Engineering in Game Design, Development and Innovation at Duke
Karen Stritzinger- Founder, Old Hara Studios (Waves of Jeju)
Derek Ham- Department Head of Media Arts, Design & Technology @ NC State College of Design
Vivek Vidyasagaran- Game Engineer, IGDA NC-Triangle Board Member, and previously AR projects at Osmo
Joe Halper- Founder, Happy Manic (Nope Challenge)
We'll also have some bites to eat and provide some beverages! :)
We'll meet at The Bullpen @ American Underground, Durham's coworking community for innovators, creators, and changemakers.
The event is free and all are welcome, but there are limited spots so please register if you're going to go (and unregister later if you find you can't make it to free up a spot for others).
