Join us for the 6th IGDA Toronto event of 2025! Special Edition on MONDAY for Toronto Games Week!

A Game Programmers Roundtable with veterans from studios big and small. We will discuss their different career paths, how company size impacts their experience, tips and advice for newcomers, and more!
Followed by our traditional Meet & Mingle at the Great Lakes Brewpub.

Meet our Panelist:
Gavin Whitlock (He/Him) is currently working for Bad Brain Game Studios as the Principal Programmer.
Gavin has been in the games industry for 30 years, working for both industry giants and small-scale studios.
He has grown from core gameplay, through AI, player controls, physics, and animation programming to leading large technical teams.
He specializes in problem-solving and bringing out the best in people.

Ramón Viladomat (He/Him) found his passion for coding at an early age at school and got hooked into games after playing Pitstop 2 on the Amstrad PC. Since then he dedicated most of his active career to coding games at studios like Santa Monica Studio, Ubisoft, Crytek, Novarama, or Reactable, being involved in titles such as God of War Ragnarök, Watch Dogs Legion, Hunt: Showdown, Ryse Son Of Rome and Invizimals. His favorite game of all time is 'Day of the Tentacle'.

Anaïs Ramírez Logut (She/Her) Is a game developer with 9 years of experience in mobile games, specializing in educational and children's apps. She was born and raised in Mexico, where she earned her degree in game development and worked with several startups and indie studios. Three years ago, she moved to Canada to join Sago Mini, where she has been working as a gameplay developer creating playful and meaningful experiences for kids.

Jean-David Veilleux (He/Him) is a Senior Programmer at Epic Games with 8 years of experience building gameplay systems in the Unreal Engine. Currently part of the Verse Framework Team, he works on foundational systems and APIs that empower user-generated content in Fortnite and UEFN. Prior to that, he contributed to Chivalry 2 where he worked on various systems, including AI, UI, and level scripting tools, and previously built weapon and movement systems at Blue Isle Studios for LEAP.

Don't be shy. First-timers are definitely welcome! These events are FREE to attend and YOU DON'T NEED TO BE AN IGDA MEMBER. If you're planning to come, please RSVP in advance so we can prepare our headcount for the venues.
