ILUGC was started on 1997 and it is an one of the oldest Linux Users Group in India. We are a heterogeneous group of computer users from the South Indian city of Chennai (a.k.a Madras), united in our use of Free/Libre/Open Source Software and support of Software Freedom in general and GNU/Linux in particular. Most of our monthly meetings see a technical talk, not necessarily on GNU/Linux but also on FSF/GNU/OSS/BSD related topics such as Perl, Python, PHP, FreeBSD, TCP, IP, etc,. We meet regularly on every month, second Saturday, with technical talks and discussions on various Free software.

Hello everyone,
Indian Linux Users Group, Chennai (ILUGC) has been spreading awareness
on Free/Open Source Software (F/OSS) in Chennai since January 1998.

We usually meet on the second Saturday of every month, and for the month of August, we shall meet on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 1500
IST.

We are inviting speakers to give a talk on software, tools, workflow
and share their experiences on Free/Libre and Open Source Software.

We have had the opportunity to witness talks from school kids to
senior professors and from freshers to experienced software developers
at ILUGC meetups.
