What we’re about

Most people have encountered trauma of some kind in their lifetime, whether it be childhood trauma, trauma that occurred in adulthood, or trauma that started in childhood and still affects relationships as an adult. Most likely you are able to go through life doing “just fine”, but there’s a voice inside that cries out for something more, something different. Or perhaps you experienced the loss of a loved one or a painful break-up that has sent your normally “good enough” life on a downward spiral that has left you struggling with everyday life. I imagine you’re ready to do the inner work necessary to climb out of this setback and on to something more fulfilling and joyful.

We are a group of individuals who are embarking on a transformative journey of self-discovery and growth. Rather than let our painful experiences define us, we are choosing to harness our inner strength and commitment to create a new reality for ourselves. With determination, we are embarking on a path of healing, introspection and personal development. Armed with empathy, self reflection and support that we can provide for one another, we will delve into our emotional wounds and embrace vulnerability as a catalyst for growth. Through meaningful conversations, book studies, mindfulness practices and self-care rituals, we seek to unravel the tangled threads of our past thereby confronting and healing our traumas. United in our pursuit of a brighter future, this resilient group empowers each other to embrace the transformative power of personal growth, emerging as individuals who have the ability to transcend the pain that once held them captive.

As group organizer, I have absolutely no credentials in therapy or counseling. I am a retired teacher who works as a General Manager of a puppy lounge company. The only cred I have is life and my desire to grow as an individual so that I may create the happiest, most fulfilling life possible for myself and others. My vision for this group is that we come together in support, wherever we may be on our path, but most importantly that we all have a desire to grow from where we are currently. Just a non-judgmental group of friends who want to talk about what they’ve been through and what’s working for them.

I understand how difficult it is to be vulnerable. Deciding to create this group has been both exciting and terrifying. All of us struggle, we don’t have to hide that from others, but we do need a safe space to talk about it and offer up thoughts and ideas that could make a significant difference in the life of another.
