About us

Welcome to the Imjin Dream. Imjin translates to Black Dragon. The group is intended for Gen X, Y, and Z who are 18 yrs and older though there may be presenters that are not. I will be planning and hosting each event. Currently, events are online but there will be in person events in the future. Themes are inspired by the symbolism specifically associated with the chthonic black dragon and Korean folklore. We will explore concepts of duality, femininity, creativity, adaptability, nature, and more. Examples of events: workshops on the five primary emotions, exploration of relationships between different generations, Korean and Japanese holiday celebrations, folklore share circle, improving our relationship with animals.

Dragons are generally viewed benevolent and auspicious in the Far East. Dragons are associated with wisdom, primordial power, shapeshifting, and transformation. The black dragon is a yang deity who draws power from the yin element of water. This dragon is connected to the underworld, chaos, the subconscious, the strange, secrets/mystery, dreams, and intense emotions. In Imjin Dream, we do not shy away from these subjects instead we approach them with curiosity and playfulness. Through Imjin Dream, I hope you will find the knowledge shared helpful and experiences to be enriching as you explore the space of unknowns.

Guidelines: Please respect boundaries. We believe consent is mandatory. We like to keep things confidential, please do not discuss intimate details of others outside of our group. When coming in late, please mute your mic to allow the speaker to talk without interruption. We like to keep things related to the topic. Please respect whomever is speaking by not engaging in cross talk and interrupting and wait for open discussion time. Do not share event details with other people who are not in the group so we can avoid situations like "zoom bombing".
