ImproNation invited Michael Churven, a teacher, performer, and director like no other from The Groundlings, Los Angeles!
He is revisiting us to teach us a workshop on the 'Clap-In' form, a style of long-form improv that uses flexibility to spark creative impulses, freedom, and spontaneity. We start with three starter scenes, set in motion through comedic ideas jumping from scene to scene, seemingly following the fun.
The workshops lead to a showcase you can enjoy as an audience member, and see what we have been working on!

ImproNation presents a show with our cast, bringing you a show like no other.
After Michael Churven's visit, we trained hard to make the "Clap-In" format shine, which we presented to you during this show (more info about the format below). But that is not all, because we have a guest performer group.
We looked for a comedy show that's, well, a welcome distraction. A Welcome Distraction is an improv group with members hailing from all over the world who are trained at Boom Chicago. They have performed regularly in Amsterdam for nearly two years, bringing you some of the best improv comedy in the city.

'Clap-In' form is a style of long-form improv that uses flexibility to spark creative impulses, freedom, and spontaneity. The improv players begin with a starter scene, and the form then sets in motion a cannon for comedic ideas that gathers momentum as the improv players build on ideas, create twists, and 'follow the fun'.
