Improv Boulder meetup is a group that supports all local improv with classes, shows & ideas! Learn about available classes and shows from local, national & international teachers & troupes. If you have a curiosity about improv or are a full blown fan, this meetup will share ways to watch, participate and make friends being a part of this revolutionary art form. Experienced and brand new Improvisers over 18 are welcome here!

Improv 201 Class - Character - with Todd Sullivan- Mondays Sept 14th
The Spark, 4847 Pearl Street Suite B4, Boulder, CO, USBuilding on our 101 curriculum (or any other improv group's beginner level class), you will learn how to create interesting characters, polish your 2-person scene work, grasp the fundamentals of pattern building, receive an introduction to UCB-style "game," and perform believable object work. Taught by long-time improviser and teacher, Todd Sullivan, this promises to be a fun and gratifying learning experience!
The class meets on Mondays from 6:30 to 9:00 pm, for 7 weeks, starting Monday, Sept 14th to Oct 26th, 2026, with a capstone showcase performance on Sunday evening, Nov 1st. The classes will be held at The Spark Theatre in Boulder. The showcase will also be held at the Spark Theatre in Boulder.

Todd Sullivan is a Denver-based improviser, actor, director, writer, and teaching artist who has devised, directed and/or performed pieces for The Today Show (NBC), La Mama ETC (NYC), The Hammer Museum (LA), The Sundance Channel, Chaos Bloom Theater, Second City, UCB, and for the SF, NY, and Denver Fringe Festivals. He directed the landmark 278th Tiny Desk Concert in which the desk moved across town! He's performed at festivals and shows in Edinburgh, Oslo, Nottingham, Los Angeles, San Francisco, NYC, and Denver. He holds an MFA from the American Film Institute Conservatory and an AB in Theater, Speech and Dance from Brown University. Improv 101 Class : Fundamentals with Andrew Long- starting Sept 17th

Register hereJoin us for a 7-week Fundamentals Improv Comedy Class where you'll learn the art of improvisation through engaging and diverse exercises.
In the first week, you'll dive into the core principles of "Yes, And," practicing CROW (Character, Relationship, Objective, Where) and honing your skills with 3 Line scenes and conflict Scenes.
As you progress, you'll develop characters through emotional choices and character walks, explore relationships in-depth by endowing characters with specific traits, and practice creating strong, dynamic scenes. Exercises like pantomime and scene painting will enhance your ability to work with objects and environment, while longform improvisation techniques will teach you how to smoothly transition between scenes with sweeps and tag outs.
In the latter weeks, you'll delve into the intricacies of maintaining relationships in scenes, heightening comedic elements through the "First Weird Thing" exercise, and experimenting with the La Ronde format for interconnected scenes.
After the final week, you'll be ready to showcase your newfound skills in a graduation performance (friends and family invited), applying all that you've learned about character creation, relationships, object work, and longform improvisation.
This class promises to be a fun, creative, and enriching journey, perfect for anyone looking to unleash their inner improviser and/or get out of their comfort zone.

Improvarama Improv Comedy Show - Friday Sept 18th!

Join us on Friday, September 18th 8pm for our monthly Improv Comedy show, Improvarama at Louisville Underground
Your suggestions will drive the show as these performers make up the funny right on the spot. Come early, play some games in the arcade, and grab a bite to eat and a drink beforehand. The comedy is clean but this event is 21+. Doors open at 7 pm and the show starts at 8 pm.
You'll enjoy three dynamic improv teams: the premier performance of a new Improv Boulder team, aka Greg's team; house team, Trust Fall Incident; and
a surprise guest team.Come early to hang out, play some games at Tilt, and grab a drink or dinner before the show (there's a new delicious menu from Rocket Dogs)!
The laughs are clean(ish), and the event is strictly 21+.
