Improv drop-in workshop: Something from Nothing with Anders Lankford

Join us for an instructive and fun workshop with Anders Lankford from Flipside Theatre - Something from Nothing!

The moment any individual takes the stage, a scene begins. It begins before the first line, before the first action. It starts independently of any plans, any expectations, and even independently of audience suggestions. It begins with a stage picture and it starts in a state of undeniable full agreement with your scene partners and the audience; everybody agrees on this first page of the story. By paying close attention and building off of this initial moment, you will find it's easier to maintain a coherent thread that develops more profound, robust, layered, and yes, funnier sets.

In this workshop, we will focus on honing your awareness of those initial stage pictures and the first few pages of your developing stories.

Anders has decades of improv and sketch experience at Bovine Metropolis Theatre, Voodoo Theatre, and other places. He's quirky and fun and you will definitely learn a new aspect of improv!

This workshop will be held at The Louisville Underground (inside Tilt!, under Verde) from 7-9 pm. No experience necessary and beginners are always welcome. We'll have pizza, too.
