Join us for an instructive and fun workshop - "Torture or Enable?" with Alex Nichols from Rise Comedy

In this workshop, we'll explore how to zero in on a character's game and make moves that heighten it without getting distracted. Do we "enable" the character by letting them impose their game on the world around them? Or do we "torture" the character by pushing their button and putting them in worse and worse situations?

Alex has been performing witty and imaginative improv for over 20 years. His journey began in Chicago, where he sharpened his comedic instincts performing with several teams at iO and other vibrant theaters scattered around the city. Today, he calls Denver home, where he's a regular presence at RISE Comedy, both as a seasoned teacher and a performer. He’s a member of two crowd favorites—Necromancer, known for its magical mischief, and Potluck, a creative ensemble serving up a little bit of everything.

This FREE workshop will be held at The Louisville Underground (inside Tilt arcade, under Verde) from 7-9 pm. No experience necessary and beginners are always welcome. We'll have pizza, too.

Feel free to email Cynthia@improvboulder.com with any questions.
