About us

Welcome to In Good Company, a group for women in the middle stretch of life who want a steady circle of friends without everything turning into a political test. Please keep politics away from these gatherings.

This is not a 20s party scene and not a retirement group. It’s for women who have already lived a few chapters, who are juggling work, relationships, family, health, and purpose, and who want people they can see regularly in their life.

This group was created by the original founder, who like many of us, missed sitting together, walking together, sharing real life, without first checking what “political box” everyone fit into. She grew up in the Netherlands, where the unspoken rule was that you don’t talk about politics, religion, or money. First you get to know the person in front of you. Later, when there is trust, you can talk about deeper topics in a more human way, with the goal to connect, not to divide.

Who this is for
Women who:

  • are in the “second half of life” with a few decades of adulthood behind them
  • like to stay active and enjoy things like walks, hikes, being outdoors
  • want to grow real friendships, not just small talk or networking
  • are curious about other people’s stories and tired of labeling and judging or being judged

What to expect

  • Small to medium-sized meetups
  • Coffee meetups, walks, hikes, shared meals, and other simple social gatherings
  • Sometimes a light structure (a few prompts or activities) so it’s easy to talk but never forced
  • A clear understanding that we are not here for political debates or to convince each other of anything

All events will be women only, to create a relaxed space where it’s easier to open up.

If you’re in the stage of life where you care about your physical health, your time, and the quality of the people around you. If you're able to park your politics outside, and you want more good company in your week, you’re welcome here.

PS: please sign up with your actual name and a picture of yourself so that we know who's who. Thanks!
