Riley Ranch to Tumalo State Park

Let’s hike!

Riley Ranch is a beautiful nature preserve and worth exploring if you haven’t been yet. We’ll start at the entrance of the preserve and hike through wooded areas and along the Deschutes River to Tumalo State Park, then return the same way.

The terrain is mostly flat, but expect some rocky sections. Depending on recent weather, there may also be mud, snow, or ice. Please wear appropriate footwear, and bring trekking poles or Yaktrax if conditions call for them.

This is a relaxed, social hike, but everyone is responsible for their own pace, footing, and well-being. Feel free to hike at a speed that’s comfortable for you, take breaks as needed, and turn back if that’s the right choice for you.
