Reiki in the Park
Details
Welcome Everyone! It's so encouraging to see people want to be a part this group.
So, Hello! I'm Shirl, a Level 2 Reiki practitioner, and I will be facilitating the Reiki Circle.
This Reiki Circle is will be outdoors at Van Nuys Sherman Oaks Park (14201 Huston St, Sherman Oaks, CA 91423). We'll meet at the small parking lot closest to Hazeltine and then go the an area near there to do the circle. Also with it being outdoors, please leave your purse and valuables locked safely in your car.
Due to the days getting a bit shorter, we will be meeting early evening--5pm--so that we can be done and back to our cars before it gets dark. However, the park may have lights on at dusk so it's not an issue.
Here's what to bring:
A chair--camping or folding chair, one that is fairly comfortable for you
A blanket or Jacket in case you get cold
Water
An open heart and mind
Your intention
The itinerary will be as follows:
1. Intro--We'll share our names and our intentions
2. A little explanation about Reiki
3. A short meditation to ground us and create our own safe place
4. A short Reiki session (depending on number of people either I will give a short session to everyone or we will split off into pairs).
5. Share experiences
6. Closing affirmation
Doing this outdoors at a park is an exciting idea and also an experiment thus the request for an open mind and heart. If it goes well, I will continue in parks. I would in the future like to find an indoor place especially in the winter. Just putting that out to the universe.
This event is a "pay what you can" just to cover the cost of organizing it and future events. I accept Venmo or cash. If you are unable to contribute, that is perfectly fine. No one will be turned away for that reason.
Thank you so much for letting me facilitate this for you.
If you are curious about what Reiki is and the intentions for this group, please see below.
What is Reiki? Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing modality. The basic belief is that the body heals itself and the Reiki practitioner is aiding in that healing by channeling energy from the Universe and then gently placing their hands on the receiver. It is not associated with any religion. Reiki has a long history and many teachers. I was taught Usui Reiki.
Benefits of Reiki include: better sleep, lowered anxiety, increased creativity, and pain relief.
I will add Reiki is NOT a replacement for any medical or mental/emotional care you may be receiving, but rather a supportive form of self care.
The intention: to bring together like-minded people to receive Reiki, share experiences, and build connection and community.
Whether you are a seasoned Reiki Practitioner or someone who has never experienced it but curious, this is the place for you. All are welcome.
