The Book of Possibility November Monthly Book Club Choice
Waterstones, 91 Deansgate, Manchester, GBHave you ever found yourself saying, "I can't do that," "It's too late," "I'm not good enough," or "That's just not possible for someone like me"? But what if those thoughts aren't facts? What if they're simply stories you've come to believe about yourself, your circumstances or what life has to offer? This November, we're coming together to explore The Book of Possibility by Jim Curtis, a book that invites us to look beyond our perceived limitations, challenge the beliefs that shape our lives and begin opening ourselves to new possibilities.
Places are limited please Rsvp before attending.
About the Book
The Book of Possibility explores how the stories we tell ourselves can influence the way we experience life, the choices we make and the opportunities we allow ourselves to pursue. Sometimes we don't even realise we're living within limitations we've created or inherited. They can come from childhood experiences, relationships, past disappointments, expectations or simply things we've repeated to ourselves for so long that they now feel like the truth. Through reflection and a willingness to look at ourselves differently, we can begin to question these stories and discover that perhaps there is more available to us than we previously imagined. And possibility doesn't always mean making enormous changes. Sometimes it begins with one small shift in perspective, one different decision or the willingness to take a step towards something we once thought was out of reach. What We'll Explore Together
At Hear My Voice Book Club, we don't just discuss books. We explore how their teachings relate to our own lives and how we can put those insights into practice.
During our November gathering, we'll explore questions such as:- What have I decided is impossible for me, and why?
- Are there beliefs about myself that I've never stopped to question?
- What possibilities have I dismissed because of fear, past experiences or other people's expectations?
- Where in my life have I already achieved something I once thought was impossible?
- What would I allow myself to explore if I didn't need to know exactly how it would happen?
- What is one small step I could take towards a possibility I'd love to experience?
Through open conversation, personal reflection and shared experiences, we'll have an opportunity to look at our lives from a different perspective.
There may even be moments when someone else's story helps us recognise a possibility within our own. What to Expect
Our gatherings are relaxed, welcoming and interactive. There are no lectures, no tests and certainly no expectations that you must have all the answers! We'll explore themes from the book through group discussions, thought-provoking questions, self-reflection and practical awareness exercises. You're welcome to share your experiences, ask questions or simply listen and reflect. One of the most wonderful things about coming together is discovering how differently we all see the world. A single question, conversation or perspective can sometimes open a door we didn't even realise was there. And the conversations don't always stop when the book club finishes! Those who wish to are welcome to continue connecting over lunch afterwards.Do I Need to Read the Book?
Absolutely not! Whether you've read every page, listened to a few chapters, or haven't even opened the book, you're welcome to join us. Hear My Voice Book Club is about so much more than reading. It's about connection, awareness, self-discovery and taking what we learn into our everyday experiences.
The book gives us a starting point, but it's our own stories, experiences and willingness to explore that bring the conversations to life.A Little Reflection Before We Meet
Take a moment to consider:
If you knew you couldn't fail, what possibility would you give yourself permission to explore?
And perhaps an even more interesting question...
Who told you it wasn't possible in the first place?
You don't need to arrive with an answer. Just bring your curiosity and a willingness to explore.
Whether you're joining us for the first time or have been part of our community for years, we look forward to welcoming you. Come for the book, stay for the conversations, connection, laughter and those unexpected moments of awareness.Because perhaps the greatest possibility is discovering that you're capable of more than you've ever allowed yourself to imagine.
The book is the theme, and YOU are the main character! ❤️
