🦌 Special One-Day Fieldwork Program in Nara ⛩️
We’re looking for international visitors & residents seeking to explore Japan's first capital, guided by the Japanese high school students. Nara is known as one of the birthplaces of Japanese history and culture. The Asuka-Fujiwara area is often called Japan’s “first capital,” and it is now set for UNESCO World Heritage List✨
This program is part of Global Camp / Border-Crossing Camp HOMARE (越境キャンプ誉), run by Minna no Ryugakubu (Student-led Study Abroad Advocacy Group)🎒
🗺️ What We Do:
During the day, you will explore the Asuka-Fujiwara area in Nara, visiting World Heritage candidate sites as well as related historical and cultural landmarks🏯
The high school students will have studied the area in advance, and they will share the history, cultural value, and unique appeal of Japan’s “first capital” in their own words! 🗣️🇯🇵
This is a great chance to meet and interact directly with Japanese young adults. Instead of just visiting historical sites, you will walk, talk, and learn together! 🚶♂️💬🎓
🥾 The Route Includes:
• 🏛️ Asuka Historical Museum (飛鳥資料館)
• 🌸 Asuka-dera Temple (飛鳥寺)
• 👑 Asuka Palace Site (飛鳥宮跡)
• 🌾 Fujiwara Palace Site (藤原宮跡)
• ⛩️ Kashihara Shrine (橿原神宮)
• ⛰️ Miwamyōjin Shrine / Ōmiwa Shrine (三輪明神/大神神社)
🚀 What is Global Camp (越境キャンプ誉)?
Border-Crossing Camp HOMARE (越境キャンプ誉) is a five-day program for Japanese high school students who are interested in global challenges and may be thinking about studying abroad in the future 🌟
Through the camp, students learn not only about the world, but also about Japan and themselves. The program helps them build the confidence to share their culture, ideas, and identity when they step out into the world 🌏✨
💡 Why Join Us?
You are invited to join the third day of the camp. By joining, you will give Japanese students a real opportunity to communicate with international participants, while also getting the chance to learn about Japan through their perspectives! 🗺️❤️
📢 Spaces are limited! Sign up now and let's explore the roots of Japan together! 🎒✨
