GNU Emacs Hackathon (23rd August, 1100 - 1600 hrs)

Emacs is a extensible editor of choice for hackers. C++ is a systems programming language that powers infrastructure all over the world.

GOAL

adapt cc-mode to create C++ coding style

BENEFITS

Using a programming language like LISP to adapt an Editor environment like Emacs is a very effective approach to learn how to construct software. We also learn about C++ !

SOFTWARE

APPROACH

  • Team formation will be done by the organizers depending on the number of attendees.

  • Setup and configure the software. Make sure the environment is working fine.

  • clone the git repo that will be shared on the day of the hackathon

  • There will be discussion of 'key facets' of C++ coding style (includes 'stroustrup' style).

  • The teams will work towards adapting small feature sets with regular syncs to the main repo.

  • Final solution will be integrated code from all the participating teams.

ARTIFACTS

  • software artifacts that we create as a community will be released under AGPLv3+.
