Taste of Türkiye

Welcome to Taste of Türkiye, a social community for anyone curious about Turkish food, culture and the people behind it, especially those who haven’t had much experience with Turkish cuisine yet.

Already know Turkish cuisine inside out? No worries — follow the group anyway! I’ll also be hosting events that bring people from different cultural backgrounds together, so there may be something for you too.

In this event instead of sitting down for one big meal, we’ll cycle from place to place and discover different Turkish restaurants, bakeries and small food spots. At each stop, we’ll try something different sharing dishes together and tasting as many Turkish flavours as possible along the way.

🍽️ What can you expect?
I’ll carefully choose the foods we try, with the aim of introducing you to different flavours Turkish dishes, as well as some classics you may already know.
Depending on the places we visit, we might try things such as:
🥯 Simit
☕ Turkish tea & coffee
🥙 Different types of pide
🫒 Meze and small dishes
🍢 Grilled specialties
🍮 Turkish desserts
But the food is only part of the experience!
At each stop, I’ll share some stories and interesting facts about Turkish food culture, traditions and the stories behind the dishes. So you’ll not only taste the food, but also learn a little about where it comes from and how it is enjoyed in Türkiye.

🚲 How will it work?
We’ll meet in Amsterdam and start our cycling adventure together. We’ll make several stops throughout the day, spending enough time at each place to taste something before getting back on our bikes and continuing to the next spot.
The idea is to try many different things rather than eat a large meal at one place. We’ll order several dishes to share, so everyone gets the chance to taste a variety of foods.

At the end of the day, i ’ll split the total bill equally.

🚲 Please Note
Please bring your own bicycle — bikes will not be provided. If you’re coming from another city, NS rental bikes can be an option.
This event is personally organized for fun, meeting people from different cultures and sharing Turkish food and culture. It is not a commercial or profit-making event.

🚲 Cycling Route
The tour will involve approximately 8 km of cycling, starting near Rembrandtplein and finishing near Sloterpark. We’ll cycle at a relaxed pace with several food stops along the way.
