Hi Crew!

I'm pleased to announce that our new website is now live at
There you can check out videos, photos and news from our current and completed projects, participate in forums and keep tabs on everything we're doing! We will continue to use to schedule meetings, recruit new members, and send messages, but this new website will provide a great public face for our group! Big thanks to Kevin for designing this website! If anyone in the group needs a website, Kevin is your man!

Also, all musicians and anyone interested in working sound crew, see Noah's message below. We're looking to expand the Sound Unit, so if you want to get involved, this is a great opprotunity to do it! Please DO NOT reply to this email, reply to Noah - his contact info is at the bottom.
To the NYC Film Collective,

Exciting changes are happening in the NYC Film Collective Sound Unit. The sound unit is looking to expand, and we need more manpower. We are looking for people interested in all aspects of sound production including Production Sound Mixers, Sound Editors, Musicians, etc.

As per the suggestion of group members, we will be instituting an NYC Film Collective Jam Session in order to record songs written by group members for soundtracks to projects and for the music database. If you would like to participate as a musician and/or composer or know someone who would be interested, you should contact me. Be sure to include instruments which you play, and relevant equipment which is available (such as an amplifier). I would like to make this a monthly or bi-monthly activity with the first session in November, and I would like to get an idea of appropriate space / equipment needed to record before hand.

Maybe recording sound is your specialty? I would like to open up the position of Production Sound Mixer for shoots. We will get our hands on a mixer in order start using a multi-mic approach (boom, wireless lavaliers, etc.) to capture a better sound. This type of position is available for recording jam sessions as well. Again if you have appropriate equipment, please include in your email.

I also propose the addition of an audio editor role in post-production. We can use someone whose specialty is audio editing so the video editors do not have to worry about it, and the audio can be cleaned up more easily. Is anyone interested in being an audio editor?

If you are interested in any of these roles, I can be reached at [address removed], or on my cell at (614) 378-5141.
