About us
This meetup is for all who enjoy the indie genre of music and other genres that influence this diverse category of music! Check out our past and current events to get an idea of what kind of music we listen to!
Would you like someone to go with to see a band that you love but your friends don't? Or do you already have at least one friend to go to a show with but wouldn't mind meeting others who share your taste in music? No problem!
All you need to do is e-mail one of us with the show you want to go to, and we will make you an Assistant Organizer for that show! The more active Assistant Organizers we have, the more diverse and interesting our list of hosted shows will be! We also welcome gigs of local indie bands if they've got catchy tunes!
We mostly go to venues with general admission, so that we can meet up and hang out before and/or during the show. Note: on rare occasions, some shows will be" no-host meetups" and some will be "announcement only", unless someone wants to step in and host it.
There are also occasional meet-and-greets or indie club nights where we can meet up and talk about bands and music without attending an official concert.
If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to e-mail us!
Lastly, since you're here and reading this, please fill out this music poll, just for kicks and to see what others on listen to: https://www.meetup.com/indiemusic-130/polls/
Cheers,
Lisa, Organizer
Jennifer, Co-Organizer

The booyah! Kids are a three piece indie outfit from New York city. The kids write honest music without letting go of their playful musical sense. Julian, Aidan, and Emma sing together, telling stories about everything from libraries to reconnecting with old flames. A good booyah kids song should feel like a friend of yours.
If you like Michelle you will enjoy this group.
Location is near Downtown LA but actual address is released post purchase of a tix.

The Prodigy
The Novo, 800 West Olympic Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA, USThe Prodigy makes their rare appearance in L.A. Unfortunately, the singer Keith Flint is no longer with us, but they still get rave reviews for their live shows. We are going to the Thursday night show.
As of 11/25/25, there are some tickets left on March 13th and only $140 VIP tickets left for March 14th. I paid $70 for my general admission ticket on the first day of the sale.
The Prodigy are an English electronic music band formed in Braintree in 1990 by producer, keyboardist, and songwriter Liam Howlett. At their critical and commercial peak, the band also featured MC and vocalist Maxim, dancer and occasional live keyboardist Leeroy Thornhill, and dancer and vocalist Keith Flint. AllMusic described The Prodigy as "the premiere dance act for the alternative masses" and "the Godfathers of Rave".[1] The band describe their style as electronic punk.[2][3]
The band emerged during the underground rave scene and achieved early success in 1991 with their debut singles "Charly" and "Everybody in the Place", which reached the UK top five. After their debut album Experience (1992), the band moved from their rave roots and incorporated techno, breakbeat, and rock influences on their follow-up, the critically acclaimed Music for the Jilted Generation (1994). They reached their commercial and critical peak with their third studio album The Fat of the Land (1997), which went to No. 1 in 16 countries, including the UK and the US, and spawned the UK number one singles "Firestarter" and "Breathe" in 1996. The third single, "Smack My Bitch Up", was a UK top ten hit and generated considerable controversy over its suggestive lyrics and music video. Thornhill left the band in 2000 and Flint died in 2019; Howlett and Maxim are the only two original members.
The Prodigy are one of the most successful electronic groups of all time, selling an estimated 25 million records worldwide[4] including over 4.7 million albums in the UK. They have scored seven consecutive UK number one albums. The band have won many awards during their career, including two Brit Awards for Best British Dance Act, three MTV Video Music Awards, five MTV Europe Music Awards, and two Grammy Award nominations.[5][6]12 attendees
