After the week of dealing with frigid weather, ice, and the never ending onslaught of terrible news, I was scrolling my email, hoping for a little diversion. There it was, the one little word that brought a smile to my face, SUGAR. Fronted by long time DC resident and queer icon, Bob Mould, Sugar exploded on the alt rock scene with 1992’s Copper Blue. Side A featured a trio of pop punk perfection with Good Idea/Changes/Helpless. After the release of their second album, File Under Easy Listening, and tour, the band went separate ways. Thirty years later, Bob has teamed back up with bassist David Barbe and drummer Malcolm Travis for a second round of pop punk sweetness.
