Wild at Heart is a 1990 film written and directed by David Lynch, based on the 1989 novel of the same name by Barry Gifford. Starring Nicolas Cage, Laura Dern, Willem Dafoe, Crispin Glover, Diane Ladd, Isabella Rossellini, and Harry Dean Stanton, the film follows Sailor Ripley (Cage) and Lula Fortune (Dern), a young couple who go on the run across the Southern United States from Lula's domineering mother (Ladd) and the criminals she hires to kill Sailor. Christmas with the Kringles is a film directed by Kevin Lewis and staring Ron Livingston, Rachel Bilson and Rob Riggle. The Severson family move to a suburban neighborhood where their neighbors, the Kringles, celebrate Christmas year-round and harbor sinister intentions to hypnotize and indoctrinate them. Let's gather together at Pho Saigon to talk movies.
Our first round of discussion will be "Talk about a Movie". Every member talks about a movie. We share what we liked, what we did not like. Feel free to join in the discussion of other members' movies.
Our second round of discussion will be about film noir, in honor of Noirvember. What makes a good noir? What is a favorite noir film of yours? Do you plan on watching any noir this month? We will include foreign film noir in anticipation of our movie of the month, Port of Shadows. If you are interested in developing a list of movies to watch, film noir in particular, this will be a great discussion for you.
We will gather at one of the round tables on the left side of the restaurant.

For November, The Indy Cinema Series presents a screening of the film, "The Long Goodbye" by Robert Altman.
Starring Elliott Gould, Nina van Pallandt, and Sterling Hayden.
The film will be presented on the big screen screen, in Clowes Auditorium Theater (300 seats) at Central Library. Free and open to all.

Parking:
Plenty of parking is available at the Central Library parking garage. The garage is almost never full. Going south on Pennsylvania Street (after 9th street crossing), you make a right, down into the underground Library Parking garage. Take a ticket. The first 30 minutes is free. After the first 30 minutes, it is a dollar, and then a dollar every hour after that. If you stay for the film and the discussion it will be a total of 3 dollars. The ticket machine to redeem your ticket is in the library (level two) or on parking level one (you use the ticket and the machine when you are ready to leave). It is always open. There are two levels to park. On some special days the arms are open and parking is free. You simply drive through.

Or just north, next door to the Library, you can find parking at The Living Room Lounge parking lot. It is free.

After the film, Braden Wenndt and Jason Davis will host/meet at The Flatiron Restaurant (The Elbow Room) at 605 North Pennsylvania Street (a couple of blocks away/walking distance) at 8:00p.m. to discuss the film.
