Let's Talk Movies (Outside)!
It’s summer time and we are going to celebrate by talking about movies in a park.
We will start with "Last Movie Seen", a roundtable discussion about a movie that you have recently seen. Come prepared to share a short description about the plot (no spoilers), how you saw it, and whether you recommend it or warn against it. It's a great way to develop a list of movies to check out.
For a quick second discussion, we are asking you to share with us your 2 favorite first time viewings of 2025 so far. These are movies that you have seen for the first time, they do not have to be new movies. Home or theater are both great places to discover movies.
Our larger discussion will be movies about America. While I am not a world traveler, I hope that I know at least a little about other countries because I watch movies from those countries. Let's turn the table. If someone wanted to know about life in America, share a movie that would let them know what life is like here. The choice of age and genre is yours. Documentaries and narrative films all qualify. We look forward to learning from your pick.
We are meeting at the Picnic Knoll. These are a set of 3 very long picnic tables that are just to the right of the playground found off the Broad Ripple Avenue parking lot. Many of us bring our own lawn chairs because picnic tables are hard.
If the Indianapolis weather does not cooperate that day, we will move the meetup to the shelter that is behind and to the left of the playground. Check this site for comments.
We look forward to talking movies with you.
