"Chasing Amy" and "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" at Gary's

Hey everyone, the cult movies for February are my two favorite romantic comedies of the last 15 years. First up is Kevin Smith's "Chasing Amy" (1997) Staring Ben Affleck and Joey Lauren Adams. Affleck plays Holden a cult comic-book artist who falls in love with fellow artist Alyssa (Adams), only to be thwarted by her sexuality, the disdain of his best friend Banky (Jason Lee), and his own misgivings about himself. The second film is "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" (2004) starring Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet. Joel (Carrey) is stunned to discover that his girlfriend Clementine (Winslet) has erased their relationship from her mind. Out of desperation, he contacts the inventor of the process, Dr. Howard Mierzwiak (Tom Wilkinson) to get the same treatment. As his memories for Clementine begin to fade, Joel realizes how much he still loves her. This film is written by Charlie Kaufman and directed by Michel Gondry.
