Thank you to our friends at Indy Parks - Frederick Douglass Park for supporting this practice and being fantastic partners in community well-being.
This practice is outside at the Frederick Douglass Park Family Center and inside if we need to be. No special knowledge or experience needed. Come as you are. Wear comfortable clothing. You are welcome to come and go as you like.
Practice Leaders:
Tony (he/him) and Dustin (he/him): on alternating weeks, more or less.
No practice on June 28 due to our Summer Retreat.Schedule:
Yoga 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. - through the playground and behind the Family Center: You can expect yoga to be at a relaxed pace with space to breathe, with movements that facilitate gentle joint mobility and functional strength. A few mats are available for you to borrow, but please bring your own if you have one.
Meditation 11:00 - 11:25 a.m.: Our meditation practice is quiet, continually returning to ease in the body and ease in the breathing. There is nothing to achieve or attain. You are welcome to practice your Way as long as you help maintain a quiet practice space for the group.
Mindful Dialogue and Active Listening 11:30 - noon: We’ll practice either a paired or full group mindful listening and speaking exercise. Both are great practices that will improve every relationship in your life that involves communication. After practice, share any questions and reflections and hear what others have to share. It's ok to just listen, too.
Safety

A gently guided practice. While you rest your body in a comfortable way, Ania (she/they) will invite you to notice and ease into sensations in specific areas of your body throughout the 25 minute session, beginning in the toes and concluding at the crown of our heads. We'll close practice with a short reading and space for you and other participants to share any reflections or questions.
No special knowledge, experience, belief, or non-belief required. Just be yourself.
Thank you for supporting community well-being.
