Writing a TypeScript GameBoy Emulator
I'll walk through the process of building a full featured GameBoy emulator, written completely in TypeScript from scratch for the web. I'll cover things like how cpus and memory work, old school graphics rendering, music and sound effects, and of course how you can emulator all of these in an efficient and easy to understand way using the modern web. Writing software that emulates hardware that runs other software is a really cool engineering challenge, and learning about this through a relatively simple system like the gameboy is really cool and fairly accessible, so please come check it out!
