Discrete Event Simulation: It's just not for breakfast anymore.

Trying to get a handle on the behavior of some 'thing' whose characteristics are non-deterministic before you have to build or buy it? There's a toolkit for that! This month's talk will be a introduction to the basics of the Python simulation toolkit (SimPy). We'll cover some of the basics of simulating systems and see how SimPy can give you a handle on how things are going to behave before they actually exist. Don't fear the topic! This talk will focus is on developing system behavior intuition not simulation as an end in and of itself.
