Agenda:

7 - 7:15 p.m.: Announcements and introductions

7:15 - 8:30 p.m.: "Going to Conferences on a Budget" by Kojo Idrissa, a software engineer at REVSYS.
In-person conference attendance can be very beneficial, but it also presents a multivariate problem as far as logistics and expenses. I'll discuss existing conference options, and share things I've done to reduce the costs of attending conferences. Specifically, I will:

  • review the costs of attending PyCon US in Cleveland (2019), PyCon US in Salt Lake City (2022) and PyOhio
  • share projections for PyCon US in Pittsburgh in 2024/25
  • discuss cost-saving opportunities

In my experience traveling as the DEFNA North American Ambassador, I've had to figure a lot of these things out. Now I'll pass my insights along to you. Hope to see you at a conference in person!

8:30 - 8:45 p.m.: Door Prizes

8:45 - 9:00 p.m.: Networking & General Discussion

Organized by Six Feet Up, IndyPy wouldn’t be possible without our awesome sponsors including JetBrains and JFrog. If you are interested in sponsoring IndyPy, please send an email to events@sixfeetup.com.

Guests are more than welcome to attend, but please have each person RSVP on their own Meetup account.
