Lightning Talks!

From: Miles Z. S.

Ladies and Gentlemen -

I'd like to have a couple lightning talks following our primary presentations on Wednesday night.? You know, like dessert following the meal that is machine learning followed by the heaping helping of Smalltalk.? Do YOU want to provide the dessert?? You do, don't you!

Acceptable topics: Freakin' anything.

That said, it would be awesome if a topic was chosen from our UserVoice queue [1].? For instance, the top vote-getter at the moment is "State of Rails Deployment", which is probably a long presentation.? However, if you have experience with EY Solo (hey, an EY employee is going to be present!), I personally would really like to hear about it.? Also, a quick "Setting up Cucumber" or "Writing an effective Cucumber test" for those who don't have experience with Cucumber would be fantastic.? Perhaps a run-through of submitting a patch to the Rails core, even.? Or, whatever you want to chat about.

So, whaddya say?? Sounds like fun, right?? Get STOKED.? Also, reply and let us know what you want to talk about.

PS - I will personally purchase a beer (or whatever beverage for which you might pine) afterwards for anyone that sticks to a Pecha Kucha [2] or Ignite [3] format -- essentially, you have 20, and only 20, slides, and they are displayed for 15 or 20 seconds, and they automatically advance.? I've never experienced such a presentation.? It sounds interesting.
