Volunteer day at A Critter's Chance
Hosted by The Indianapolis Veggie Meetup Group
Details
Last year, A Critter's Chance took in a piglet whose life changed the moment he fell off of a livestock truck. After receiving veterinary care, Freeway the Yorkshire pig was adopted into a loving home where he was safe from slaughter. Unfortunately, the family has to give him up, and because the rescue has taken back several other large animals, they do not have a dedicated space for him to stay. Materials will be provided to build him a new stall, and those who do not feel comfortable working on this type of project may elect to do some painting around the property or general care for the animals.
While you are there, you will get to meet a variety of animals that you help every day thanks to your food choices. PS - if you came to the build day in December, you will get to see the piglets that your work benefited! They are now big enough to be spayed or neutered and will be up for adoption soon.
