Announcing a new Meetup for Indy Webcomics Group!

What: 24 Hour Comic Challenge October 2nd

When: Saturday, October 2,[masked]:00 PM

Indianapolis, IN 46250

Hey IWG,
It's time for the 24 Hour comic challenge, again hosted this year by our friend Jeff at Downtown Comics North in Castleton. This year, Downtown Comics has agreed to let us promote our group and our anthology at the event, so lets get a big turnout of IWG members for this event.

There's a lot more going on at this year's challenge so read ahead! Exciting stuff!

Hear it from the man, himself:

"Hello, Everyone!

With October fast approaching, its time to sharpen those pencils and get fired up for this year's 24 Hour Comic Challenge!

This year's event will be held at the Downtown Comics, Castleton location. The event will begin at 5pm on Saturday, October 2nd and run until 5pm Sunday, October 3rd. The registration deadline is Wednesday, September 29th by midnight ET. Please fill out the attached registration form and bring it with you at the time of the event. I must have this back in order for you to participate. Additional forms will be available at the store.

Please remember to bring any art supplies that you intend to use in working on your comic (ie: pencils, pens, paper, ink, etc...). I will be providing a stack of printer paper for sketching ideas as well as a laptop for research and story ideas should anyone become stuck.

Our sponsors for this year's event include Downtown Comics, ComicsPro, Boom Comics, Outback Steakhouse (Castleton), and of course Chimp Champ Design. Pizza and soda will be provided by Downtown Comics and Chimp Champ and Outback Steakhouse, Castleton, has graciously agreed to supply us with appetizers for the group once again. Boom Comics has even thrown in a couple of small prizes for our top four finalists.

We will also be doing something a little different this year. Last year it was kicked around that we should have recorded a pod-cast to capture this celebration of the comics medium for all posterity. So, that's exactly what we're hoping to do this year. In addition to that, we'll be filming video on and off throughout the night to promote the event and our host, Downtown Comics.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact me at the email address below and I will be happy to help in any way I can.

That said, I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible this year and I hope to see a few familiar faces!

There's a registration for for the event. Please make sure you fill this out and bring it with you on the day of the event. I must have one on file for everyone competing, same as last year. Again, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to email me.
