This is a wonderfully meditative practice.
Kirtan is the singing of spiritually uplifting songs, prayers, ancient Vedic mantras, and the Sacred Names of the Supreme.
Weaving together melody, music and mantra with people responding to the words of the singer.
Kirtan and Mantra has the ability to quiet the mind if sung, or listened to with intention. It is one of the most powerful and enjoyable forms of meditation.
As we sing with each other a deep connection is available with the other members and within yourself. And when the music stops, your mind is quiet.
You can be completely immersed in the sound, with no words to distract the mind. The magic of the chants can then carry you within.
Kirtan is non-denominational, the Universal language of Spirit, the song of the Soul.
The ancient chants contain powerful renewing & transformative energy that helps us reconnect with the Divinity that resides within all of us.
Singing is the heart of Kirtan, and no-one cares what you sound like. At these session all voices merge together to become One Voice.
Come join us for this joyful meditative practice. Open the throat centre. Open the heart. Allow us to sing as One.
If you have a musical instrument – please bring it to play and enhance the energies of the music that is played through the speakers, and the instruments of our voices.
We love for these events to be a community collection – if you have a favorite mantra track you would like to include, please contact Alli 0414323429 so we can add your contribution.
