Join us September 30th for another terrific "insiders" tasting, where we bring attention to a winemaker you may not know yet. Kris produces just 400 cases of so. He's gaining recognition as one of our up-and-coming garagist winemakers! (read more below)
Winemaker Kris Beverly of Civilization Wine Company grew up in a family that fermented wine from grapes and fruit. He went on to work with local wine producers, including Costa de Oro, Sanguis, Grassini Family Vineyards, Margerum, Avisa Wine Design, Presqu'ile, Clendenen-Lindquist Vintners, and Bevela Wines, before starting his own label.
He was pouring at a tasting organized by Pico Los Alamos in April and Inside Wine Santa Barbara loved his wines, they were among the best. This was the same event is where we met winemaker Fidencio Flores of Esfuerzo wines who we featured May 13th--attendees raved about this Meetup!
We'll meet at Kris's winery in Lompoc at 11:30 am for a winery tour, talk on vinification, wine tasting and lunch.

2020 Civilization Grenache Blanc, Camp 4 Vineyard: Barrel fermented and aged sur lee for 22 months, this is a rich Rhône with full mouth- weight and strong acidity, making it a foodie’s dream! Only 96 cases produced. (usual retail $30)
2019 Civilization Pinot Noir, Ampelos Vineyard: Aged 3 years in a mix of new and neutral Francois Freres oak, this Pinot expresses SRH elegance but with a beautiful floral depth and long rich finish. Only 96 cases produced. (usual retail $55)
2021 Civilization Pinot Noir "Dana Mae", Quinta Santa Rosa Vineyard: Aged 19 months in neutral French oak, this Pinot Noir showcases bright fruit, red berries, and a supple finish. 184 cases produced. (usual retail $55)
2018 Civilization Syrah, Ampelos Vineyard: Barrel aged four years in Francois Freres puncheons, 50% of them new. 108 cases produced. (usual retail $45)
2021 Civilization Cabernet, Vincent Vineyard: Fermented in open top oak barrels and aged in neutral French oak, this Cabernet has the elegance of a classic old world Bordeaux that is designed for long term aging. 108 cases produced. (usual retail $60)
Lunch will be delicious, fresh Mediterranean from The Daisy! Chef Carmen is making us lemongrass grilled chicken with hummus, garden salad, flatbread and more.
