Cellar Talk, Tasting and Lunch with Winemaker Fidencio Flores Saturday, Sept 7th
Details
Back by popular demand! Inside Wine SB first tasted Esfuerzo Wines last year at a tasting of over 30 local wineries. Winemaker Fidencio Flores' wines really shone through! He poured for our group at a memorable winetasting and picnic under an vineyard oak tree that many members have told me was one of their favorite events that we've put together.
Fidencio is the fourth generation of a wine growing family, starting with his great-grandfather Salvador Zepeda who grew grapes for the Firestone family. He is the first to make his own wines and we are happy to support him as he develops as a young winemaker. He is a wellspring of information, so bring any questions you have to our event!
RSVPs end 3 days before the event, no tickets at the door. The event is in Buellton. (Wine cellar will be nice and cool!)
Wine tasting:
Esfuerzo Wines Happy Boy Pet Nat: A sparkling wine produced using the methode ancestrale (fermentation in bottle0, capturing the freshness of the sauvignon blanc grape while adding the lively effervescence typical of Pet Nats.
Esfuerzo Wines Sauvignon Blanc: Ballard Canyon AVA. Primary fermentation primarily in stainless steel tanks to preserve the wine’s vibrant fruit flavors and maintain its crisp structure. On the palate, a burst of stone fruit supported by robust acidity that transitions smoothly into a creamy finish.
Esfuerzo Wines Sangiovese Rose: The wine opens with an alluring aroma of wild berries. On the palate, bright, fresh fruitiness wrapped around a backbone of minerality.
Esfuerzo Wines La Familia: Grenache 50%, Syrah 25%, Mourvedre 25%. The nose entices with fresh fruit aroma, primarily cherry, with spicy undertones of peppercorn. On the palate, layered flavors of fresh fruit, spice and earth.
Esfuerzo Wines El Amigo Cabernet Sauvignon: Crafted to be a more medium-bodied Cabernet, with softer tannings than is typically found in traditional versions of this varietal. On the palate, ripe cherry complimented with a subtle herbal backdrop of clover.
Lunch details to be announced. We will have our famed dessert competition: handmake a dessert, the one voted best by the group wins a bottle of wine!
