Introduction to Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction

Details
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an evidence-based program developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn in the late 1970s at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. It's designed to help individuals cultivate mindfulness, which is the practice of paying attention to the present moment with openness, curiosity, and acceptance. MBSR combines elements of mindfulness meditation, yoga, and cognitive-behavioral techniques to promote overall well-being and reduce stress.
The MBSR program will span over 9 weeks and involves weekly group sessions lasting around 2-3 hours each, along with daily mindfulness practice assignments. Participants learn various mindfulness meditation techniques, such as body scan meditation, mindful breathing, and mindful movement (yoga). They also engage in group discussions and receive guidance on integrating mindfulness into daily life.
