Discover two of the most beautiful villages in the Valencian Community on this full-day excursion to Morella and Vilafamés. From the dramatic hilltop fortress of Morella, crowned by its medieval castle, to the atmospheric streets of Vilafamés with its striking red-stone architecture and world-class art museum, this trip combines history, culture, and timeless charm.
We leave Valencia in the morning and enjoy a scenic drive through the mountains of Castellón province before arriving in Morella, a spectacular walled town that seems frozen in time. After an orientation walk to help you get your bearings, you’ll have time to explore at your own pace. Wander cobbled streets lined with artisan shops, taste traditional products such as cheese and cured meats, or step inside the imposing castle and fascinating museums. For those who wish, there’s also the option to join a guided walking tour of Morella (Spanish only, available at an extra cost).
In the afternoon, we continue to Vilafamés, a picture-perfect hilltop village renowned for its warm reddish tones and tranquil charm. After a short orientation walk, you’ll have free time to discover its medieval streets, ruined castle and pretty squares. The highlight of our visit is the MACVAC (Museum of Contemporary Art), housed in a 15th-century palace and featuring an impressive collection of Spanish and international works that contrast beautifully with the historic setting.
After an inspiring day of history, art, and discovery, we return to Valencia by early evening.

Good to know:
- Both Morella and Vilafamés are hilly with steep, cobbled streets. They are not suitable for people with mobility issues, and flip-flops are not recommended.
- Restaurants in Morella can be very busy at lunchtime, especially at weekends, so advance reservations are strongly recommended.

Descubre dos de los pueblos más bellos de la Comunidad Valenciana en esta excursión de día completo a Morella y Vilafamés. Desde la espectacular fortaleza de Morella, coronada por su castillo medieval, hasta las calles llenas de encanto de Vilafamés, con su arquitectura rojiza y su prestigioso museo de arte contemporáneo, este viaje combina historia, cultura y belleza atemporal.
Salimos de Valencia por la mañana y disfrutamos de un trayecto panorámico por las montañas de la provincia de Castellón antes de llegar a Morella, un pueblo amurallado impresionante que parece detenido en el tiempo. Tras un paseo de orientación para situarnos, tendrás tiempo libre para explorar a tu aire: recorrer sus calles empedradas con tiendas artesanales, degustar productos locales como quesos y embutidos o visitar el castillo y los museos del pueblo. Quien lo desee puede unirse a una visita guiada por Morella (solo en español y con coste adicional).
Por la tarde continuamos hacia Vilafamés, un pueblo de postal en lo alto de una colina, famoso por el tono rojizo de su piedra arenisca y su ambiente tranquilo. Empezaremos con un paseo de orientación y, a continuación, tendrás tiempo libre para descubrir sus calles medievales, las ruinas del castillo y sus plazas con encanto. El punto culminante es la visita al MACVAC (Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Vicente Aguilera Cerni), ubicado en un palacio del siglo XV y con una destacada colección de arte español e internacional.
Después de un día lleno de historia, arte y descubrimiento, regresaremos a Valencia a media tarde.

Spend a day in Mediterranean paradise with a visit to Tabarca Island, a tiny gem just off the coast of Alicante known for its clear waters, marine life and laid-back charm. Explore a protected marine reserve, snorkel in pristine waters and enjoy free time to soak up the sun and scenery.
The day begins with an early departure from Valencia as we head south by air-conditioned minibus to the fishing port of Santa Pola. There, we’ll board the ferry for the short crossing to Tabarca, Spain’s smallest inhabited island and its first official marine reserve.
After some time to get your bearings, we’ll join a guided snorkelling tour in the island’s protected waters. All equipment is provided, and your guide will help you discover the incredible underwater life that makes Tabarca such a special destination. Please note: you must be able to swim to take part in the snorkelling activity.
The afternoon is yours to enjoy as you wish - swim, sunbathe or stroll through the small village and visit its historic lighthouse. Tabarca is home to a variety of restaurants and cafes, many offering freshly caught seafood with views of the sea.
As the day winds down, we return by ferry to Santa Pola and head back to Valencia by early evening - refreshed, sun-kissed, and full of coastal memories.

Disfruta de un día en el Mediterráneo con una excursión a la Isla de Tabarca, uno pequeño paraíso frente a la costa de Alicante, conocida por sus aguas cristalinas, su vida marina y su ambiente tranquilo. Explora una reserva marina protegida, practica snorkel en aguas transparentes y disfruta de tiempo libre para relajarte al sol o pasear por el pueblo.
El día comienza con una salida temprana desde Valencia en minibús con aire acondicionado, rumbo al puerto pesquero de Santa Pola. Desde allí, tomaremos el ferry que nos llevará hasta Tabarca, la isla habitada más pequeña de España y la primera en ser declarada reserva marina.
Después de un tiempo para familiarizarte con la isla, participaremos en una excursión guiada de snorkel en las aguas protegidas de la isla. Todo el material está incluido, y un guía experto te acompañará para mostrarte la rica vida submarina de la zona. Es imprescindible saber nadar para poder realizar esta actividad.
La tarde queda libre para disfrutar a tu ritmo: puedes bañarte, tomar el sol o pasear por el pequeño pueblo o visitar su faro. Tabarca cuenta con una amplia oferta de restaurantes y cafeterías, muchos con vistas al mar y especialidades de pescado fresco.
Al final del día, regresaremos en ferry a Santa Pola y, desde allí, volveremos a Valencia por carretera. Un día completo de sol, mar y naturaleza que no olvidarás.
