Join us this Saturday for one of our favourite day trips from Valencia: the Vuelta a la Hoz, a 7 km circular hike through forest, along a scenic ridge and down to the Palancia River. We’ll pair it with a visit to the Cueva Santa, a fascinating church built inside a cave (free entry).
Escape the city and explore Jérica, a stunning ancient town less than an hour’s drive northwest of Valencia, nestled along the picturesque Palancia River. With a mix of forest trails, panoramic ridge views, and a refreshing river stop, this 7 km circular route is the ideal balance of adventure and relaxation.
What to Expect:

• We begin with a gentle forest ascent, passing historic trenches from the Spanish Civil War, adding a fascinating touch of history to the journey.
• Reaching the horseshoe-shaped ridge, we’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of Jérica and the surrounding mountains.
• We’ll stop for lunch with fantastic views from the scenic ridge.
• Our descent leads us straight to the lovely Palancia River,
• Finally, we’ll relax with a post-hike drink in Jérica’s charming historic town.
• Bring your own lunch, water and wear shoes suitable for walking

Escápate de la ciudad y explora Jérica, una impresionante ciudad antigua a menos de una hora en coche al noroeste de Valencia, enclavada a lo largo del pintoresco río Palancia. Esta joya escondida es el destino perfecto para una caminata panorámica,r. Con una combinación de senderos forestales, vistas panorámicas de la cresta y una refrescante parada en el río, esta ruta circular de 8 km es el equilibrio ideal entre aventura y relajación.

Comenzamos con un suave ascenso por el bosque, pasando por trincheras históricas de la Guerra Civil Española, lo que agrega un toque fascinante de historia al viaje. Al llegar a la cresta en forma de herradura, seremos recompensados ​​con impresionantes vistas de Jérica y las montañas circundantes. Haremos una parada para almorzar con fantásticas vistas desde la cresta panorámica. Nuestro descenso nos lleva directamente al hermoso río Palancia. Finalmente, nos relajaremos con una bebida después de la caminata en el encantador pueblo histórico de Jérica. Trae tu propio almuerzo, agua y usa zapatos adecuados para caminar. ¿Por qué participar en este viaje?
