the acting school in which he is an instructor: http://atre-ecole.com/wp/blog/2018/12/14/keith-farquhar-meisner/This class focuses on being truthful from moment to moment, using Sandford Meisners technique. Depending on your experience we start with a warm-up: basic repetition and 3-moments. With a solid foundation the class aims to guide you towards Point of View repetition. It is crucial to strengthen the basis of this work so it becomes habitual which will result in you seeing more on stage and adapting naturally to whatever happens.
This work should give you truthfulness and playfulness as a script or impro actor by working from moment to moment.
Within the class you will learn how to utilise techniques from Meisner, Chubbuck, Mamet, Johnstone, how to combine them and determine, what´s best for you! If you are already familiar with them we give you the chance to refine your work!Important to know:
The time of the classes vary between 18-21 and 11-14 o´clock and can be booked individually
What do we offer:
Foundation: If you are totally new to this technique and want to get to know what it's all about, then that is your class to choose!
Basic: This class takes you to the next step by focusing on repetition and 3-moment exercises. It is to refine your skills to see more of what's going on with your scene partner.
Advanced: If you are already trained with the exercises mentioned above and want to go further, then you should check in here. Our advanced classes will offer different topics throughout the course. Independently we will work on POV-repetition, tactics and actions and 3 days of independent activities. This is not a sequential schedule. - IICV recommends: The Thespian Trials Pt. 6 - Play it to the Tune!Lustkandlgasse 12, Wien
All are welcome to our 6th Thespian Trials session! Sign up here on Meetup if you wish to play/perform. We try to limit the number of actual thespians (players) to 10 to be fair. If you feel like you just want to watch the show, please do sign up, and simply come over and be entertained ;)
What is this, really, you’re wondering?
In this safe, rewarding and equal-opportune space, thespians (players - actors, improvisors, other performers, etc.) get to exchange and share ideas amongst each other and be given the chance to experiment and/or challenge themselves within the sphere of the performative arts through performances helmed by themselves and/or helped/guided by other fellow thespians. The gist for this session:
Each willing participant will have a chance to present a scene for about 2-3 minutes. The scene can be played solo or with other thespians. The idea is that the scene would be fully driven by a song or any piece of music chosen by the participants. On that note, please choose something easily available on the interwebs ….and yeah, there’ll be free wi-fi and good sounding speakers so no worries! The prep:
Come unprepared if you so wish and go full improv (but at least have an idea of which song/music you’d want to play to), or go ahead and prepare/practice your music-driven scene before the session. Come dressed up and/or bring props if you like. The stage is 'YOURS' to play with...The Cost:
Free entry BUT, we'd really appreciate any donation between €5 - €10 Euros to help us cover the cost of renting this beautiful space…The (optional) challenge:
'OF MAGIC, WIZARDS & WITCHES' - there’s (almost) always music accompanying scenes involving magic, wizards or witches. Imagine yourself conjuring a spell to summon demons played to the tune of Carl Orff’s classic Carmina Burana as an example.End Note:
*Link to clips at the bottom*
I’m sure everyone has their own taste in music and could recall some scenes in film/tv that are musically memorable. Regardless, if you still need examples of such scenes, here are some of them, in my own humble opinion: (*note: diegetic = the ‘character’ is aware of it)* Song: Burn; by The Cure | Scene - The Crow, 1994 (film)
* Film score: It was always you Helen; by Philip Glass | Scene - Candyman, 1992 (film)
* TV Score: Light of the Seven; by Ramin Djawadi | Scene - Game of Thrones S06E10: The Winds of Winter, 2016 (tv series)
* Song: Lullaby of Woe; by Marcin Przybyłowicz | Scene: The Witcher III, 2015 (game promo)
* Song (diegetic): Misty Mountains; by Donaldson, Long, Roche & Roddick | Scene - The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, 2012 (film)
* Film score: Portals; by Alan Silvestri | Scene - Avengers: Endgame, 2019 (film)
* Film score: Promentory; by Trevor Jones | Scene - The Last of the Mohicans, 1992 (film)
* Film score: Summer Overture; by Clint Mansell & Kronos Quartet | Scene - Requiem for a Dream, 2000 (film)
* Song (diegetic): The Diva Dance; by Éric Serra | Scene - The Fifth Element, 1997 (film)
* Song: The End; by The Doors | Scene - Apocalypse Now, 1979 (film)If you haven't seen any of the above and if you want to avoid spoilers, please don't watch the clips. Search and listen to them on Spotify/Deezer/Youtube Music instead. Otherwise here's the link where you can watch all of them:

As always feel free to contact Zed by email: zechoid@gmail.com or Whatsapp +43 677 6236 4705 if you have any questions....
We look forward to playing with all of yous!

The IICV and Sébastien Hansen presents an intermediate level improv workshop:
## Let the scene paint you
You may know this feeling: Our characters - clothed in imaginary grey nondescript clothing - are standing in a grey generic lifeless box, telling stories that somehow miss the spark of life. It all feels pale and lacks depth.
How great would it be to let the surroundings tell a story about our characters and give the audience a chance to immerse themselves deeply into the world we are opening for them?
During the workshop we will start looking into how the surroundings of our characters have an influence on what the audience will see, how they perceive our characters and the stories we tell. We will discover how a slight change in the description of our characters makes them much more complex and gives them a depth that we simply cannot reach if we only have them go through dia- and monologues.
We will use scene painting, character painting and some object work as tools to tell stories within stories.
The lovingly re-glued vase speaks volumes and shows its importance.
The slightly discoloured patch of wood on the floor has a history waiting to be discovered.
And why does Mary ALWAYS wear a dried white flower on her hat?Lets find out together and give our worlds more color.
