What we're about
International Students Montreal (ISM) is a group to connect international students in town to explore and experience the city together. We organize fun activities like short trips, apple picking, wine tasting, summer and winter outdoor activities. To promote cultural diversity and mutual respect, we also organize potluck meals, cultural events and language classes. Besides, we work with local churches and Christian organizations to promote and practice hospitality to international students. We are associated with International Students Ministries of Canada (ISMC).
ALL international students, scholars, researchers or professors in Montreal are welcome to join us! Note:
1. Members are advised to download the Meetup App on your phone for efficient communication.
2. Please add a photo of yourself on your member profile for others to get to know you :)
3. Please cancel your RSVP if you know you can’t make it to an event and inform the organizer. THREE NO SHOWS WITHOUT RSVP CANCELLATION WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE GROUP.
4. We usually post photos after each event. Unless otherwise stated, we assume we have the implied consent from our members for public posting and marketing.
5. Respect each other's cultural differences. Offensive language and harassment to other members will be removed from the group.
6. We welcome all members to join our events, if we have too many participants for limited spots, international students will be given priority.

SUMMER IELTS PROGRAM STARTING SOON!!!

1. The IELTS program will take place every Monday and Friday starting on June 9, 2023 until August 28, 2023. Each class will last for about 2 hours from 6-8pm. If it's necessary to extend for a few more classes when needs arise, we will make the announcement during the class.
2. The program will cover Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking skills to get students familiar with the actual IELTS exam format. The class size will be limited to 10-12 students.
3. The program costs $20/person and there may be a small fee of photocopying for handouts if you decide not to buy a book. We will announce it in the first class.
4. Please e-transfer $20 to belinda.tang@ismc.ca and put a note for IELTS and your name. You will get your receipt in the first lesson. The program fee will go to our teacher as an allowance to cover his travel costs.
5. You will receive a confirmation email about further details of the program after registration and e-transfer.
