Hello International Students (Working Holiday Makers and tourists are also welcome)! The last-minute notice road trips in this group are good for spontaneous people that prefer smaller groups (2 to 4 people, including driver). If you want to go on amazing road trips to some of the best day trip destinations from Melbourne, you are welcome to join this group! We will be going to mountains, lakes, waterfalls, the ocean and even snow!
A road trip will cost you only $20. This is my way of giving back in life. Below, you can read why I am doing this.

Who are you?
I am Ron Singh and I call myself "The Dancing Voyager". I already run a successful Meetup group called "Spontaneous Road Trips with The Dancing Voyager (Ron)". Link is below.
It has been running for 2 years (as of December 2023). I have done 35 road trips and driven over 15,000 kilometres. A lot of fun!

Why a second Meetup group?
The first group is for everyone. This second group is only for International Students (Working Holiday Makers and tourists are also welcome).
Why is your fee so low, at only $20?
I am very grateful for everything I have in life and I feel very happy when I am able to get people inspired by the beauty of Australia's nature, especially International Students.
Organising low-priced road trips into nature for International Students is one way for me to give back. It makes me feel truly fulfilled.
Why are your events announced at such short notice (4 days before)?
This is similar to my first group. It is done to get good weather. Road trips are always under the beautiful sunshine!
How are payments to be made?
Prepayment is needed to finalise your spot. I will provide you my mobile number for PayID, which is a secure payment through internet banking.
What about refunds?
If I cancel, you will get a full refund. If you cancel, there is no refund. Please only pay if you are certain you can attend!
What type of vehicle will it be and how many people will attend?
I rent vehicles for road trips. It is always new, large, comfortable SUVs. Photos are on group Instagram posts.
I am driving with a maximum of 3 passengers.
In the 35 road trips in my other group, I have had a mix of 1 to 3 passengers. No matter the number, it was always great!
Will there be breaks and meals?
There will be many breaks for sightseeing/walks. The walks will not be too long or intense. My events are relaxed, low-walking, sightseeing day trips.
I will stop at places where food/snacks will be sold but you are welcome to bring your own as well. There will be a lunch break at either a cafe or takeaway shop.
What to wear/bring?
Rain is unlikely as trips are aimed for sunny days. Still recommend to carry a jacket as winds can suddenly get cool. Also recommend to carry sunscreen and a hat.
For beach trips, you can go for a swim. For snow trips, I will provide you further details on clothes.
Bring your mobile charger. People take lots of videos and photos and use up their batteries! The vehicle will have various charging ports for USB-A.
What about responsibility, liability, safety?
As your driver, I am responsible and liable for your safety while we are in the vehicle. Passengers are insured as per the Australian law.
For times we are outside the vehicle, we then become responsible for our own liability and safety, just like every other capable adult in society.

Notice: In almost 3 years (December 2021 to November 2024), I drove 20,000 kilometres across 45 road trip events and met so many amazing people through my two Meetup groups (links above)!
From November 2024, I changed how my road trip events were done.
Instead of planning events on my own, I left it up to members to reach out to me if they wanted to go somewhere. I am now doing other creative projects but I am always more than happy to take people on road trips!
Events are now announced after they are done to make members aware that my group is still active, though in a different way. It will be titled "Road Trip: Record event only". Photos will already be posted on the group Instagram account (link above).
This change seems to be working quite well for members and myself! Very grateful!
