With our efforts, we contribute to increasing biodiversity on Rigi-Hinterbergen by caring for an ecologically valuable hedge and creating small structures for weasels and other wildlife.

Mountain farmer Mischa Hofer combines agricultural production with ecological landscape maintenance. On his organic farm above Vitznau on the Rigi, we assist him in caring for a high-quality ecological hedge. With the cut material, we also complement the hedge with brushwood piles. These valuable small structures serve as retreat and overwintering places for many animals. Properly designed, they can also be used as breeding sites for stoats and least weasels, the world's smallest carnivores.

Under expert guidance, we learn a lot about the farm, the importance of ecological structures, and our native weasel species. At the same time, we have the opportunity to collectively contribute to biodiversity in the region and enjoy the unique view from the Rigi.
