Have you heard of mindfulness but always wondered what it is? Or how it could help you with your life in Belgium?

Whether you’re looking for ways to manage the professional or personal stresses of living in a new country, or simply how to be in the ‘present moment’, this hands-on session will explore simple strategies to help you learn more and get started.

During our time together, you will hear about mindfulness and how and why it might be helpful for you, especially as an international. We’ll talk about what it means to be fully present and learn a mindfulness exercise that we’ll try together and that you can do at home on your own or with family.

You’ll also get some ideas on how you can squeeze out some mindful moments during busy or stressful days and we’ll do some gentle and easy-to-remember movements to help you feel more alert and awake. The session will round off with a discussion of how we can practice non-judging and acceptance of ourselves and others and will learn some simple kindness and supportive techniques for this.

There is no need for prior mindfulness, meditation or yoga experience for this session, beginners and all levels of experience are welcome! All discussion and exercises are optional, so you can choose how much to engage or not. Modifications/options for participation are offered to encourage engagement and sensitivity to ranges of mobility and other possible trauma.
