WHAT'S THIS ABOUT?
BATU explores the female body through domestic and ritual spaces, with the kitchen as a site of contemplation – a place of labour, tradition, intimacy and power.

At the heart of the work is the batu, a traditional grinding stone used in Southeast Asian kitchens to grind spices and herbs. An everyday object, it is a witness to memory, ancestry and the knowledge passed between generations.

Through movement and voice, the artists navigate the space between sensuality and spirituality, inviting the audience to consider what our bodies and homes carry and remember.

HOW DO I ATTEND?
Tickets cost $35 including the ticket fee

PROGRAMME
4.45pm: We can mingle and chat before the performance starts

5pm: Performance commences

6pm: Performance ends. Chat and mingle more over dinner and/or drinks if there is interest – optional for those attending the performance

7.30pm: Home sweet home or feel free to carry on the conversations!
