Summit Snowdon – Eryri Hiking Weekend – Bank Holiday Weekend – 3 days / 2 nights
Details
Join us for an inspiring Bank Holiday weekend in Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, centred around the challenge of summiting Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) via the quieter and more adventurous Rhyd Ddu & South Ridge route.
This women-only hiking weekend combines one iconic mountain day with two beautifully scenic supporting walks, taking in waterfalls, wooded valleys, mountain lakes and expansive Welsh landscapes.
It’s designed for women who want to challenge themselves, build confidence on steeper terrain, and experience Snowdonia in a supportive, friendly and well-led environment.
We’ll be based in Conwy, close to the coast and historic castle, providing a practical and sociable base for the weekend. Expect big views, a real sense of achievement, and the shared experience that Adventure Women trips are known for.
Planned Walks
Day 1 – Aber Falls
8 km | 280 m ascent | ~2–3 hrs | Grade 2 (Moderate)
A beautiful warm-up walk through a wooded valley to one of Snowdonia’s most impressive waterfalls. Aber Falls tumbles over a dramatic cliff face and is the perfect way to ease into the weekend after travelling.
Day 2 – Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) via Rhyd Ddu & South Ridge
12 km | 900 m ascent | ~7 hrs | Grade 3+ (Challenging–Tough)
The highlight of the weekend. We’ll tackle Yr Wyddfa via the quieter Rhyd Ddu & South Ridge, a superb mountain route offering sustained climbing, dramatic views and sections of light scrambling and ridges. This is a full mountain day and a real sense-of-achievement walk, fully supported throughout.
Day 3 – Llyn Geirionydd & Llyn Crafnant (Two Lakes Walk)
10 km | 330 m ascent | ~3–4 hrs | Grade 2 (Moderate)
A scenic and satisfying final walk around two beautiful mountain lakes, following woodland paths, reservoir tracks and open views — a calmer but still rewarding way to finish the weekend.
